IHSCA is committed to responsible governance and transparency. Our governing board provides oversight, supports the mission and strategic direction of the organization, and helps ensure responsible stewardship and accountability.

Our Charter Operator

Instituto del Progreso Latino serves as the charter operator of Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy.

Under the leadership of President and CEO Karina Ayala-Bermejo, Instituto provides organizational oversight and connects IHSCA with a broader network of education, workforce development, healthcare training, and wraparound family services.

Board Leadership

The Board of Directors brings together leaders with experience across education, nonprofit leadership, business, finance, workforce development, and community service.

Emmanuel Mandujano

Emmanuel Mandujano serves as the Parent Board Member and is the parent of a current IHSCA senior. His participation helps ensure that the experiences and perspectives of IHSCA students and families are represented in board governance.

FY 2026–27 Board Meetings

Board meetings are open to the public and are scheduled from 5:00–6:30 p.m. Meetings are generally held in the Instituto Community Room, located at 2520 S. Western Avenue, second floor, with virtual participation also available.
