IHSCA In The Community

Students and Staff Participate In The Chicago Marathon

Our fall sports teams and coaches participated in the Chicago Marathon as volunteers. Our athletic program aims to take the opportunity to serve back and volunteer in various school and community events. Students and coaches worked the water station on 18th and Blue Island. Students prepared the tables and were ready to pass out water to the marathon runners. It was a great experience and students had fun helping out in the world class running event.

Mural Unveiling With The Chicago Public Art Group

Students worked in collaboration with the Chicago Public Art Group to create a new mural on California and Cermak. The piece is meant to raise awareness on cyber safety for our youth as they utilize technology to stay connected with friends online. It is important for our youth to be aware of who they talk to online for their safety. The mural unveiling took place on November 10th and had guest speakers from the McCain Institute and a special guest speaker, Matt Forte, from the Chicago Bears! We our proud of the work our students did as they raise awareness on important topics for youth and also took a moment to display their artistic creativity. We look forward on working on more mural projects in the future! Thank you to our wonderful teacher Ms. Arellano for leading this project!
