Important Notice Regarding Social Media Posts, Threats, and School Safety

At IHSCA, the safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities. In light of this, we want both our students and their families to fully comprehend our approach to addressing these issues:

1.       Immediate Response to Online Threats: The school is committed to responding promptly to any threats made online. We will collaborate closely with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and the Chicago Police Department (CPD) to ensure the safe resolution of these situations.

2.       Monitoring Social Media Use: We strongly encourage families to actively monitor their child's social media usage. It is vital to stay informed about your child's online activities to ensure their safety and well-being.

3.       Conversations about Online Threats: Please engage in open and candid discussions with your children about the gravity of making threats online, regardless of whether they are intended as jokes. Emphasize the importance of responsible online behavior and the potential consequences of their actions.

4.       Community Involvement: Everyone plays a key role in contributing to a safe school environment. You can take action by immediately reporting anything suspicious that you see in person or online to school personnel. Your vigilance and proactive involvement are essential in maintaining a secure learning environment.

We believe that, by working together as a community, we can create a safer and more responsible online environment for our students. Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your understanding and commitment to the welfare of our IHSCA students.
